Who says you can't have a nice wedding for under $2000?

My fiancée and I are tying the knot this September and we are trying to do it as fun and cheap as possible. When we decided to wed, we agreed that we wanted fun, rather than fancy. I want people to come, eat and drink and have a blast. Not sit around going 'Wow. Everything matches... This is fun...' (*note my sarcasm)

We are having the wedding of our dreams (well, mostly mine) for under 2 grand. My wedding gown was free (gifted to me), my flowers are free (my mom owns the local flower shop in town where I also happen to be employed), the location of our ceremony is free (local Park overlooking a pond), So the only things we are paying for is the JP, booze, karaoke machine rental, cupcakes and all the little things (marriage licenses and liquor licenses, etc). Now not brag or anything but holy cow am I getting smokin' good deals on catering, booze, linens, photos and venue (some of which my parents are insisting on paying for...) I guess it boils down to who you know. And since my mother is in weddings she seems to be friends with everybody else involved in that industry.

It's all quite a relief really. I didn't want my wedding to be stressful on anybody for any reason. And it looks like its headed in that direction. Can't wait to post pictures of our wedding for you. It's going to be so much fun, we are going to have karaoke instead of a DJ, food (including a midnight snack), $2 drinks, candy buffet, a photo booth/kissing booth, billiards, Guitar Hero and cupcakes. Who doesn't LOVE cupcakes, right?
